Do You Want A S'MAC?

If you are a lover of Macaroni & cheese and you live in NYC, I sincerely hope that you have been to S'MAC by now. If not, then you are missing out on a wonderfully cheesy world of pure perfection. This place is the capital of Mac & Cheese.

Sarita's Macaroni & Cheese (S'mac) has two locations in the city where you can enjoy one of the greatest comfort foods that exists:
Murray Hill- 157 East 33rd Street between Lexington and 3rd Avenues
East Village- 345 East 12th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues.

S'mac is one of the major contributing factors to my obesity. I admit it, I'm addicted. I have tried just about everything on the menu and I continually annoy my friends to go back with me. But can you blame me? Look at some of my pics!

The first S'Mac location that I dined at was the one in the East Village. It was a cold night after my friends and I got out of a broadway show and we were supposed to meet my two friends Meghan and Katie in the village for dinner. It was my friend Meghan who first exposed me and my friends to the wonders of S'mac. I'll never forget how tired we were trying to find the restaurant after getting off the subway. I made one wrong turn, leading my friends in the opposite direction...I mistake I remember all too well for the amount of yelling which ensued. After quickly turning around and sprinting to the location, we found an extremely packed restaurant with a line practically out the door. That was when it hit me, the magnificent smell of Macaroni and Cheese.. cascading through the air. We met Meghan and  Katie, who somehow managed to save us a table (a difficult task at prime around dinner time on the weekend at S'Mac) and the rest was history. I have since been to S'Mac countless times and will continue to return for more.

Although I have been to the S'Mac in the East Village first, I prefer the one in Murray Hill more. The quality of the food and menu are the exact same, the only difference being the location itself. The Murray hill location is larger and feels more comfortable with plenty of seating where as the East Village location is smaller and more difficult to find seating. Regardless of which one you go to, S'Mac will expand your waistline to enormous sizes while have your mouth watering for more.

I have tried just about everything on the MENU and here are some of my favorites:
Napoletana
Cajun
La Mancha

Regardless of which you choose, I highly doubt you will find yourself disappointed.

First Post!

Bonjour and welcome to my newest blog La Vie à New York!
I really wanted to create a blog where I can share some of my favorite places in NYC with everyone. As you know if you live here or can imagine if you haven't, NYC is a bustling metropolis with hundreds of things/events happening at any given moment. I want to share some of my personal experiences (and MANY blunders) as a college student studying in the concrete jungle.
I hope you enjoy!
